House of Nabagopal Ghosh
Once, Sri Sri Thakur visited Nabagopal Ghosh’s house in Badurbagan on the occasion of a grand festival. While listening to the Bhagavat recitals and kirtana in their Chandi Mandapa, Thakur stood up and took the Tribhanga- Muraridhari pose (Krishna posing with three bends – head, waist and legs) and stayed that way while the singers sang Kirtan. NabaGopal Babu was blessed to see the Bhuvan Mohan (Enchanter of the World) form of Thakur that day.
In his later years, Nabagopal Ghosh decided to shift and build a big house in the village ‘Ramakrishnapur’ in Howrah. He liked very much the name of the village ‘Ramakrishnapur’ and thought that, through out the day on various occasions, he would be getting the opportunity to utter the holy name of his most revered spiritual ideal. He left his residence at Badurbagan of North Kolkata and started living permanently in Ramakrishnapur. In this newly built house of Nabagopal Ghosh at Ramakrishnapur, Howrah, Swami Vivekananda worshipped the porcelain image of Sri Ramakrishna on the auspicious day of Maghi Purnima on 6th February 1898 and composed extempore the Pranam Mantra of Thakur Sri Ramakrishna :
ॐ स्थापकाय च धर्मस्य सर्वधर्मस्वरूपिणे।
अवतारवरिष्ठाय रामकृष्णाय ते नमः।।
(I bow down to the Establisher of Religion who has embodied in Himself the essence of all religions.
Salutation to Thee, O Ramakrishna the foremost of the Divine Incarnations.)
Many of the brother disciples and other monks and brahmacharis accompanied Swami Vivekananda on that day. Nabagopal’s wife Nistarini Devi was also very fortunate to have received affection of Sri Ramakrishna.
At present, the descendants of the daughter’s family of Nabagopal Ghosh live in the Badurbagan house. Their title is ‘Sinha’.

Directions : ln Garpar area of North Kolkata, enter Vidyasagar Street located on the opposite side of Deaf and Dumb School (Muk-Badhir Vidyalaya) on the Acharya Prafulla Chandra Road, and a little further on, there is a narrow lane on the left side known as Vrindavan Mallik Lane and this old two-storied house is located on the left side inside this lane.

বাদুড়বাগানে নবগোপাল ঘোষের বাড়ি
ঠাকুর শ্রীরামকৃষ্ণ তাঁহার বাদুড়বাগনের বাড়িতে একদিন মহোৎসব উপলক্ষে শুভ পদার্পণ করিয়াছিলেন এবং তাঁহাদের চণ্ডীমণ্ডপে ভাগবত পাঠ পদাবলী কীর্তন শ্রবণ করিয়া কীর্তন মধ্যে ত্রিভঙ্গমুরলীধারী হইয়া অবস্থান করিয়াছিলেন। নবগোপালবাবু ঠাকুরের সেইদিন ভুবনমোহন রূপ দর্শন করিয়াছিলেন। (‘শ্রীরামকৃষ্ণ ভক্ত মালিকা’ দ্বিতীয় ভাগ, প্রসঙ্গ- নবগোপাল ঘোষ – স্বামী গম্ভীরানন্দ)
শেষ জীবনে নবগোপাল ঘোষ, ঠাকুর শ্রীরামকৃষ্ণের নামের সহিত সাদৃশ্য থাকায় ঠাকুরের নাম সব সময় স্মরণ করিতে সুবিধা হইবে চিন্তা করিয়া হাওড়ার ‘রামকৃষ্ণপুর’ গ্রামে গৃহ নির্মাণ করিয়াছিলেন এবং তাঁহার উত্তর কলকাতার বাদুড়বাগান অঞ্চলের বাসস্থান ত্যাগ করিয়া স্থায়ীভাবে এই রামকৃষ্ণপুরেই বসবাস করিতে থাকেন।
হাওড়ার রামকৃষ্ণপুরে নবগোপাল ঘোষের এই নবনির্মিত গৃহেই ১৮৯৮ সালের ৬ই ফেব্রুয়ারী মাঘী পূর্ণিমার শুভলগ্নে স্বামী বিবেকানন্দ কর্তৃক শ্রীরামকৃষ্ণের পোরসেলিনের প্রতিকৃতি পূজিত হইয়াছিল। সেই শুভমুহূর্তে স্বামীজী ঠাকুর শ্রীরামকৃষ্ণের এই প্রণামমন্ত্রটি মুখে মুখে রচনা করিয়াছিলেন :
ॐ स्थापकाय च धर्मस्य सर्वधर्मस्वरूपिणे।
अवतारवरिष्ठाय रामकृष्णाय ते नमः।।
স্বামী বিবেকানন্দের সঙ্গে মঠের যাবতীয় সন্ন্যাসী ও বালকব্রহ্মচারীগণ সেদিন সেখানে উপস্থিত ছিলেন। নবগোপালের স্ত্রী নিস্তারিণী দেবীকেও শ্রীরামকৃষ্ণ বিশেষ স্নেহ করিতেন।
বর্তমানে, নবগোপাল ঘোষের দৌহিত্র বংশীয়গণ তাঁহার বাদুড়বাগানের এই বাড়িতে বাস করেন। তাঁহাদের পদবী ‘সিংহ’।
