Fagu’s Sweet Shop
The famous sweet shop of Fagu was on the west side of the road in Barahanagar Bazar. Sri Sri Thakur used to love ‘kachuri’ (spicy deep-fried dough with stuffings of urad dal [white lentil] or peas or any other pulses and at times mixed with hing [asafoetida] for added taste) of Fagu’s shop. On 16th April 1886 at Cossipore, Thakur personally gave Girish Ghosh to eat ‘kachuri’ brought from Fagu’s shop. At present a few retail shops and a sweet shop named ‘Mukhoruchi’ claimed to be run by Fagu’s descendants have come up in the same location.
ফাগুর মিষ্টির দোকান
বরাহনগর বাজারে রাস্তার পশ্চিম পার্শ্বে ফাগুর প্রসিদ্ধ খাবারের দোকান ছিল। শ্রীশ্রীঠাকুর ফাগুর দোকানের কচুরি ভালবাসিতেন। ১৮৮৬ সালের ১৬ই এপ্রিল কাশীপুরে ঠাকুর স্বহস্তে গিরিশ ঘোষকে ফাগুর দোকানের কচুরি খেতে দিয়েছিলেন। বর্তমানে সেখানে কয়েকটি মনোহারী দোকান ও একটি খাবারের দোকান (মুখরুচি) হইয়াছে।
