Viceroy’s (Lat Saheb) Palace

At present this is Governor’s house of the State of West Bengal. It is spread over six-acre area on the north side of the Maidan. When Sri Sri Thakur came to Calcutta, Hriday showed him this house with big columns. Thakur said, ‘Mother showed me that those are merely clay bricks laid one above the other’. It is mentioned in the description of 9th March 1884 in Kathamrita.

বর্তমানে পশ্চিমবঙ্গের রাজ্যপালের বাসভবন।ময়দানের উত্তরে ছয় একর বিস্তৃত জায়গাতে ইহা অবস্থিত। কলিকাতায় শ্রীশ্রীঠাকুর আসিলে হৃদয় তাঁহাকে বড় বড় থামওয়ালা এই বাড়ি দেখান। শ্রীশ্রীঠাকুর বলিয়াছিলেন, ‘মা দেখিয়ে দিলেন, কতকগুলি মাটির ইট উঁচু করে সাজানো।’ ৯-৩-১৮৮৪ তারিখে কথামৃতে ইহার উল্লেখ আছে।
