Geratala Mosque

An incident was responsible for sudden visit of Sri Sri Thakur to this mosque. Devotee Manmathanath Ghosh is the eyewitness of this incident. Once in the evening, a Muslim Fakir (holy man) standing in front of this mosque and hands stretched out towards the sky was praying aloud, “प्यारे आ जाउ, आ जाउ “ (Oh my beloved please come, please come)”. He was repeating this prayer with love and longing as tears rolled down his cheeks. Thakur was returning in a hired carriage with nephew Ramlal from Kalighat after visiting the Divine Mother there and was passing by that place. Manmathanath saw Thakur climbing down from the carriage and running up to the Fakir embraced him tightly. The two remained embraced for a long time. The mosque is over a hundred years old and the current name of the area is Kalabagan. It is run by non-Bengali Muslim devotees.

গেরতলা মসজিদ
গেঁড়াতলার মসজিদ — ঠিকানা ১৮২ নং চিত্তরঞ্জন এভিনিউ, কলি-৭, মধ্য কলিকতার এই মসজিদে শ্রীশ্রীঠাকুরের একটি আকস্মিক ঘটনায় একদিন শুভাগমন হইয়াছিল।
ভক্ত মন্মথনাথ ঘোষ এই ঘটনার প্রত্যক্ষদর্শী। একদিন সন্ধ্যার সময়ে এই মসজিদের সম্মুখে দাঁড়াইয়া একজন মুসলমান ফকির প্রেমের সহিত ব্যাকুলভাবে ডাকিতেছিলেন, ‘প্যারে, আ যাও, আ যাও।’ এই সময়ে তিনি দেখেন ঠাকুর একটি ভাড়াটিয়া গাড়ি হইতে নামিয়াই দৌড়াইয়া ফকিরকে আলিঙ্গন করেন। দুই জনেই বেশ কিছুক্ষণ আলিঙ্গনবদ্ধ হইয়াছিলেন। গাড়িটিতে ঠাকুর ভ্রাতুষ্পুত্র রামলাল সহ কালীঘাট হইতে মা-কালীকে দর্শন করিয়া ফিরিতেছিলেন। এই মসজিদটি শতাধিক বছরের প্রাচীন এবং এলাকাটির বর্তমান নাম কলাবাগান। ইহা অবাঙ্গালী মুসলমান ভক্তগণ কর্তৃক পরিচালিত।
