The Ancestral Home
The bedroom of Sri Sri Thakur – The mud house with the verandah is to the north of the temple of Raghubir Jiu. Sri Ramakrishna used to sleep in this house. It is still preserved as his bedroom. The thatched roof, earthen walls, and clean floors have been preserved as it was before. To it’s eastern side and adjacent to this house is a two-storey earthen house with a verandah. Each & every member of the family used to sleep there’re. Outside the house on it’s entrance, there is a hut with mud walls. Here Sri Sri Thakur used to meet and talk to the outsiders and that is why it is called Baithakkhana (the drawing room). On the side of the eastern wall, there is a mango tree planted by Thakur himself. There is a pond to the east of the house. At present the pond has shrunk due to filling up. It’s name is Khan Pukur (pond). Khudiram’s friend Sukhlal Goswami’s house was on the south side of the house where the Natmandir (portico of a temple) is situated today. Khudiram was deprived of everything in his own village Dere due to the conspiracy of the zamindar (landlord) there and came to live in Kamarpukur at the invitation of his friend Sukhlal. Sukhlal donated the land north of his home to Khudiram for building his house.

পৈতৃক গৃহ: — ৺রঘুবীরের মন্দিরের উত্তের মৃত্তিকা নির্মিত গৃহ ও বারান্দা। এই গৃহে শ্রীরামকৃষ্ণ শয়ন করিতেন। ইহা এখনও তাঁহার শয়নকক্ষ রূপে ব্যবহৃত হয়। খড়ের চাল, মাটির দেওয়াল ও পরিষ্কার নিকানো মেঝে পূর্বের ন্যায় একই আছে। এই গৃহের সংলগ্ন পূর্বদিকে দ্বিতল মৃত্তিকা নির্মিত গৃহ ও বারান্দা। এই গৃহে বাড়ির অন্যান্য সকলে শয়ন করিতেন।
বাড়ির বাহিরে প্রবেশপথের উপরে একখানি মৃত্তিকার দেওয়াল সহ চালাঘর আছে। এখানে শ্রীশ্রীঠাকুর বাহিরের লোকজনের সহিত কথাবার্তা বলিতেন। সেইজন্য ইহাকে বৈঠকখানা বলা হয়। ইহার পূর্বদিকে দেওয়ালের পার্শ্বে শ্রীশ্রীঠাকুরের স্বহস্তরোপিত আম্রবৃক্ষ আছে। বাড়ির পূর্বদিকে একটি পুষ্করিণী আছে। বর্তমানে ইহা ভরাট করাতে ক্ষুদ্রাকৃতি হইয়াছে। ইহার নাম খাঁ পুকুর।
বাড়ির দক্ষিণ দিকে এখন যে স্থানে নাটমন্দির আছে সেখানে ক্ষুদিরামের বন্ধু সুখলাল গোস্বামীর বাড়ি ছিল। ক্ষুদিরাম স্বগ্রাম দেরে হইতে ওই গ্রামের জমিদারের চক্রান্তে সর্বস্ব বঞ্চিত হইয়া বন্ধু সুখলালের আমন্ত্রণে কামারপুকুরে আসিয়া বসবাস করেন। সুখলাল নিজ বসতবাটীর উত্তরে জমি দান করিয়া গৃহাদি নির্মাণে ক্ষুদিরামকে সহায়তা করিয়াছিলেন।
