Panchavati
Sri Sri Thakur spent a long time in Sadhana (spiritual practice) at Panchavati after planting and growing five different trees viz. Bot (banyan), Ashwattha (peepal), Neem (Indian lilac) *, Amalaki (Indian gooseberry) and Bel (wood-apple) trees. He scattered here sacred ‘Rajoh’ (soil) of Vrindavan and said, ‘From now on this place has become a Mahatirtha (very important place of pilgrimage)’. At Panchavati, Advaita Vedantist Totapuri initiated Thakur into Sannyas in the year 1864 and taught him Vedanta. Under the guidance of Totapuri, Thakur Sri Ramakrishna attained Nirvikalpa Samadhi (the highest state of Samadhi, a state where name, form and modifications of mind and therefore the objective universe cease to exist and one is established in pure Essence of Intelligence or absolute consciousness) and continued to remain in the state of non-duality for three consecutive days. Totapuri was amazed that the highest state of Sadhana could be reached by Thakur in such a short time and helped him to return to the relative plane.
This Sadhan-Kutir (place of spiritual practice) has been converted into a brick built structure now.

বট, অশ্বত্থ, *নিম, আমলকি ও বেলগাছ রোপণ করিয়া শ্রীশ্রীঠাকুর এই পঞ্চবটী তলায় অনেক কাল সাধন করিয়াছিলেন। বৃন্দাবনের রজঃ আনিয়া এখানে ছড়াইয়া দিয়া বলিয়াছিলেন, ‘এই স্থান এখন হইতে মহাতীর্থে পরিণত হইল।’ পঞ্চবটীর সাধন কুটিরে শ্রীশ্রীঠাকুর অদ্বৈত বেদান্তবাদী তোতাপুরীর নিকট ১৮৬৪ খ্রীষ্টাব্দে সন্ন্যাস গ্রহণপূর্বক বেদান্তসাধনা করিয়া নির্বিকল্প সমাধি লাভ করিয়াছিলেন এবং তিন দিন সমাধিতে অবস্থানের পর তোতাপুরীর সহায়তায় আপেক্ষিক জগতে প্রত্যাবর্তন করিয়াছিলেন।
এই সাধন কুটিরটি এখন একটি পাকা কুটিরে পরিণত হইয়াছে।
