Kamarpukur and the adjacent places of Divine Play
Kamarpukur, the birthplace of Sri Ramakrishna Paramahamsadeva and the places where his childhood through adolescence was spent, is one of the great pilgrimage sites of the present age. It is located at the junction of Hooghly, Bankura and Medinipur districts. In March 1947, 45 bighas of land (approx.28 acres) including the ancestral residence of Sri Sri Thakur was acquired by the Ramakrishna Math & Mission for the purpose of preserving the same. The living quarters including the two-storied thatched hay roofed house and the living rooms made of clay walls have been preserved. In April 1947, Ramakrishna Math & Mission has started a branch center in Kamarpukur.
কামাপুকুর ও পার্শ্ববর্তী লীলাস্থল
শ্রীশ্রীরামকৃষ্ণ পরমহংসদেবের জন্মস্থান ও তাঁহার বাল্য ও কৈশোরের লীলাভূমি কামারপুকুর বর্তমান যুগের অন্যতম মহান তীর্থ। ইহা হুগলী, বাঁকুড়া ও মেদিনীপুর এই তিন জেলার সংযোগস্থলে অবস্থিত। শ্রীশ্রীঠাকুরের পৈত্রিক বাসভবন সংরক্ষণের উদ্দেশ্যে ১৯৪৭ খ্রীষ্টাব্দের মার্চ মাসে উক্ত বাসভবন সহ ৪৫ বিঘা (প্রায় ২৮ একর) জমি রামকৃষ্ণ মিশন কর্তৃক সংগৃহীত হইলে এপ্রিল মাসে সেখানে রামকৃষ্ণ মঠ ও মিশনের একটি শাখাকেন্দ্র খোলা হয়। শ্রীশ্রীঠাকুরের ব্যবহৃত খড়ের চালবিশিষ্ট মাটির নির্মিত বাসগৃহ, দোতলা গৃহ ও বৈঠকখানা সংরক্ষিত হইয়াছে।
