Cossipore Mahasmashan (crematorium)
The sacred body of Thakur Ramakrishna after his Maha Samadhi on 16th August 1886 was carried in a procession by the devotees to Kashipur Mahasmashan and placed upon the pyre which was then set on fire. A memorial has been erected at the cremation spot. The present name of the crematorium is Sri Ramakrishna Mahasmashan.

শ্রীরামকৃষ্ণদেবের পূতদেহ এই শ্মশানঘাটে ১৬-৮-১৮৮৬ তারিখে ভক্তবৃন্দ লইয়া গিয়া অগ্নিতে আহুতি প্রদান করেন। ওই স্থানটিতে একটি স্মারক মন্দির নির্মিত হইয়াছে। ইহার বর্তমান নাম — শ্রীরামকৃষ্ণ মহাশ্মশান।
