Bali Dewanganj

In one of the trips back to Kamarpukur, Sri Sri Thakur and Sri Sri Ma accompanied by Hriday spent three nights at this village in a newly built house of a devotee by the name Modak. In spite of reluctance of Hriday because of torrential rain of monsoon, Sri Sri Thakur stayed in Modak’s house for three nights in his newly built house to fulfill the prayer of this devotee and during his stay the local people were fortunate to listen to his spiritual talks and feel blessed.

Aanur Village

The temple of Goddess Vishalakshmi is located in Aanur village. Once, while accompanying the women devotees of Kamarpukur to visit the temple, Gadadhar experienced Bhava Samadhi (devotional ecstasy). He became normal after the women devotees started praying earnestly to the Goddess. Gadadhar and the devotees thereafter did their darshan (auspicious sight) and puja (worshipping) of Ma Vishalakshmi and returned back to Kamarpukur.

Gourhati Village

As one comes from Kamarpukur, this village is located 6 to 7 miles east-south of Arambagh. Sri Ramasadaya Bandyopadhyay of this village was married to Srimati Sarvamangala, the younger sister of Gadadhar. Thakur’s second brother Sri Rameshwar Chattopadhyay was married to Ramsaday’s sister Srimati Shakambhari. Gadadhar once went to the village of Gaurhati and saw his younger sister happily serving her husband. The scene was so appealing and heartwarming to Gadadhar that after returning home, he drew a picture of her sister serving her husband. Everyone was surprised to see the similarity of Sarvamangala and her husband in that drawing. Sri Ramakrishna Temple and Ashrama has been established in the village of Gaurhati at the initiative of the local devotees.
