The picture of Thakur Sri Ramakrishna known as ‘Shrine Picture’ which is worshipped in homes and temples was shot in the north-western side of Vishnu Mandir (RadhaKanta Temple).

The house of Nabin Chandra Roy Chowdhury of the famous Sabarna Chowdhury family was in Dakshineswar village. Thakur used to go to this house of Yogindra’s (Swami Yogananda’s) father to listen to readings from mythology or scriptures etc.
বরাহনগরের প্রামাণিক ঘাট রোডের উপর দে-প্রামাণিক বংশীয়দের প্রাচীন কালীমন্দিরে ঠাকুর শ্রীরামকৃষ্ণ আসিয়াছিলেন। ভবতারিণী মূর্তির সহিত ইহার কোন সম্বন্ধ আছে; সেইজন্য এই মূর্তি ‘মাসিমা’ বলিয়া পরিচিত। পূর্বোক্ত পুস্তকে উল্লিখিত।
Sri Sri Thakur came with Hriday to this garden house (No.6 BT Road) in Belgharia and met Keshab Sen for the first time. He was pleased to see his high spiritual bearing. From this time (15-3-1875) onwards, deep intimacy developed between the two.
In his early days in Dakshineswar, Thakur used to visit one Bhagavat Pandit’s house in Barahanagar every evening to listen to recitation from Srimad Bhagavatam. It is mentioned in the book ‘Barahanagar-Alambazar Math’.
Thakur visited and graced this famous Pathbari of Vaishnavism. It is mentioned in the fifteenth volume of Sri-Ma-Darshan. Since Thakur used to visit most of the temples in the Barahanagar region, it was likely that he visited this sacred ashrama too.
It is mentioned in certain books that Thakur visited devotee Joy Mitra’s Kripamoyee Kali Mandir on the banks of the Ganges in Barahanagar.
Narayandas Bandyopadhyay, a devotee of Kuthighat Road, Barahanagar, was an expert in reading and exposition of mythological stories. He was popularly known to the people as Kathak-Thakur or Thakurdada.
