শ্রীরামকৃষ্ণদেবের পূতদেহ এই শ্মশানঘাটে ১৬-৮-১৮৮৬ তারিখে ভক্তবৃন্দ লইয়া গিয়া অগ্নিতে আহুতি প্রদান করেন। ওই স্থানটিতে একটি স্মারক মন্দির নির্মিত হইয়াছে। ইহার বর্তমান নাম — শ্রীরামকৃষ্ণ মহাশ্মশান।

Mahim Chakraborty’s garden house was in Basak Bagan on the eastern side of the railway line of Gun and Shell Factory on Kashipur Road. Sri Sri Thakur visited this house. Akshay Kumar Sen, author of ‘Sri Sri Ramakrishna Punthi’ met Sri Ramakrishna for the first time in this house. There is no sign of this house now.

Although the name of the temple is ‘Chitteshwari Sarvamangala Temple’, the temple is popularly known as ‘Sarvamangala Temple’. Sri Sri Thakur came to this temple a few times.Current Address : 15/1, Khagen Chatterjee Road, Kolkata – 700002.

Sri Sri Thakur came to visit this temple with Mathur Babu and made arrangements for daily bhoga (sacred offerings) of Goddess. Later also he used to visit this temple from time to time.
