Bhagwat Acharya’s Pathbari (house where one recites and explain Srimad Bhagavatam), Barahanagar
Thakur visited and graced this famous Pathbari of Vaishnavism. It is mentioned in the fifteenth volume of Sri-Ma-Darshan. Since Thakur used to visit most of the temples in the Barahanagar region, it was likely that he visited this sacred ashrama too. Sri Raghunath Upadhaya once recited and explained Bhagavatam to Mahaprabhu Chaitanyadev in his Bhajan-Kutir (name of a religious place or residence of mainly Gaudiya ascetic) at this place. Mahaprabhu was fascinated by his divine narration and gave him the title of ‘Bhagavat-Acharya’.

ভাগবত আচার্যের পাঠবাড়ি (বাড়ি যেখানে কেউ শ্রীমদ্ভাগবত পাঠ করে ব্যাখ্যা করে), বরাহনগর
বৈষ্ণবদের বিখ্যাত এই পাটবাড়িতে ঠাকুরের শুভাগমন হইয়াছিল। শ্রীম-দর্শন গ্রন্থের পঞ্চদশ ভাগে ইহার উল্লেখ আছে। যেহেতু ঠাকুর বরাহনগর অঞ্চলের অধিকাংশ দেবালয়েই যাতায়াত করিয়াছিলেন সেজন্য এই পবিত্র আশ্রমে তাঁহার আগমন স্বাভাবিক। শ্রীরঘুনাথ উপাধ্যায় একবার এই স্থানে মহাপ্রভু চৈতন্যদেবকে তাঁহার ভজন কুটিরে ভাগবত পাঠ ও ব্যাখ্যা শুনাইয়াছিলেন। মহাপ্রভু তাঁহার পাঠে মুগ্ধ হইয়া তাঁহাকে ‘ভাগবতাচার্য’ উপাধি দিয়াছিলেন।
