Sri Sri Thakur came to this house at least twice as has been mentioned in Kathamrita. Once he came here with Hriday between 1875 and 1877. This visit is mentioned in Kathamrita in the description of day 28th May 1884.

Sri Ramakrishna visited Manilal Mallick, a prominent Brahmo devotee of his time and a great patron as well, in his house in the Sinduriapatti region of North Kolkata during the annual ‘Mahotsav’ of Brahmo Samaj on two occasions, first on 26th November 1882 and again after a year, on 26th November 1883. On both these occasions, Sri Ramakrishna engaged in spiritual discussions with the devotees and had food in this house.

Sri Sri Thakur came here with other devotees to attend Annakoot (meaning “mountain of rice and food” offered to Bhagwan Sri Krishna) festival being celebrated by the Marwari devotees during Diwali. He paid homage to the deity with peacock feather in the crown (Bhagwan Sri Krishna) and took Prasad (sacramental food having offered to the deity).

Thakur Sri Ramakrishna came here to listen to Kirtan (congregational singing of devotional hymns). On that day, there was possibility of his giving up the mortal body in the state of Samadhi. Thakur himself has mentioned about it in Dakshineswar on 18th December 1883.

মহর্ষি দেবেন্দ্রনাথ ঠাকুরের বাড়ি — বর্তমান ঠিকানা ৬/৪, দ্বারকানাথ ঠাকুর রোড, কলিকাতা-৭। মথুরবাবুর সঙ্গে শ্রীশ্রীঠাকুর এই বাড়িতে মহর্ষির সঙ্গে দেখা করিতে আসিয়াছিলেন। ঠিক কোন ঘরে সাক্ষাৎ হইয়াছিল তাহা এখন জানা যায় না। ২৬-১০-১৮৮৪ তারিখে কথামৃতে এই প্রসঙ্গ আছে। বর্তমানে এই বাড়িটি ও অন্যান্য বাড়িগুলি রবীন্দ্র সোসাইটি ও রবীন্দ্র-ভারতী বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের কর্ম কেন্দ্র।

Sri Sri Thakur visited this house with the devotees in the evening of 28th November 1883. It has been described in Kathamrita how his presence, divine talks and singing of Bhajan (devotional song) cheered up the householder devotees. In the garden house of Jayagopal Sen in Belgharia (no.8 B T Road), Thakur met and conversed with Keshab Chandra Sen.

Sri Sri Thakur sanctified this house by his visit at 10 pm on 21st July 1883. It is mentioned in Kathamrita that he came here to meet an eager and elderly devout Vaishnava relative of Khelat Ghosh.
