Gopal Ma used to live in this temple in Kamarhati established by Govinda Chandra Dutta of Pataldanga. She was regular in doing Japa (meditative repetition of a mantra or a divine name) and Dhyan (meditation) and taking bath in the Ganges.
Sri Sri Thakur came to his house in Belgharia on 18th February 1883.On that day, he joined the devotees in NamSamkirtan (community singing of hymns) and singing of Bhajan (devotional song) and had divine discourse with them.
Sri Sri Thakur came with Hriday to this garden house (No.6 BT Road) in Belgharia and met Keshab Sen for the first time. He was pleased to see his high spiritual bearing. From this time (15-3-1875) onwards, deep intimacy developed between the two.
