Belur – Timber Yard of State of Nepal

According to Sri Mahendranath Gupta, author of Sri Sri Ramakrishna-Kathamrita, Sri Sri Thakur once visited this timber yard in Belur at the request of Kapten (affectionately addressed by Thakur Sri Ramakrishna) Viswanath Upadhayaya. At that time, this warehouse for storing timber was located in the northside of the first floor of the house adjacent to the one known as old Mathbari of Belur Math. It is mentioned in the 15th volume of Sri-Ma-Darshan. The senior monks of the monastery also came to know about this from Master Mahasaya who heard about it from Sri Sri Thakur himself.

Wesleyan Methodist Church

This church, associated with the Protestant Christian community is located in the BaithakKhana area of Central Calcutta. In Dakshineswar, while practicing Christianity for three consecutive days, Thakur had a vision of Jesus Christ in Panchavati. He saw Jesus the God-Man embracing him and finally merged into his body. Thakur entered into a state of ecstasy (Bhav Samadhi) and lost normal consciousness. He prayed to Goddess Jagadamba to fulfill his wish to observe how the Christians pray.

Wilson Circus at Maidan

Sri Ramakrishna, accompanied by Rakhal and several other devotees, came to Calcutta in a carriage and called for M. at the school where he was teaching. Then they all set out for the Maidan. Sri Ramakrishna wanted to see the Wilson Circus. As the carriage rolled along the crowded Chitpore Road, his joy was very great. Like a little child he leaned first out of one side of the carriage and then out of the other, talking to himself as if addressing the passers-by. To M. he said: “I find the attention of the people fixed on earthly things. They are all rushing about for the sake of their stomachs. No one is thinking of God.”
