Ram Chatterjee’s House in Alambazar
Sri Ramakrishna visited the residence of Ram Chatterjee on several occasions and even partook meals there. It is important to distinguish this Ram Chatterjee from another individual of the same name who served as a priest at the Vishnu Mandir in Dakshineswar. Sri Ramakrishna also frequented this location during Durga Puja celebrations, where he would sit in the ‘Thakur Dalan’. Although the original house has since been demolished and replaced with a new structure, the original ‘Thakur Dalan’ still stands.

Direction: This historic residence is situated opposite the old Alambazar Math, which is now managed by the Ramakrishna Math and Mission, Belur Math. The preserved ‘Thakur Dalan’ is located behind house number 40, at number 41 — the very place where Sri Ramakrishna once made his revered presence felt.
রাম চ্যাটার্জির বাড়ি আলমবাজারে
দিব্যোন্মাদ অবস্থায় ঠাকুর কখন কখনও এই বাড়িতে আসিয়া আহার করিতেন। বিষ্ণুমন্দিরের পূজারী রাম চাটুজ্যে অন্য ব্যক্তি। তিনি দক্ষিণেশ্বরে বাস করিতেন। রাম চাটুজ্যের এই বাড়িতে দুর্গাপূজা উপলক্ষে ঠাকুরদালানে ঠাকুর শ্রীরামকৃষ্ণ এসে বসিতেন। পরবর্তীকালে পুরাতন বাড়ি ভাঙ্গিয়া নতুন বাড়ি নির্মিত হইলেও সেই পুরাতন ঠাকুরদালানটি আজও বিদ্যমান।

পথ নির্দেশ : বরানগরের তাঁতিপাড়ার মোড় ও আলমবাজারের মোড়ের মাঝামাঝি রাস্তার উত্তরে এই বাড়ি, বিপরীতে পুরাতন আলমবাজার মঠ যেটি সম্প্রতি রামকৃষ্ণ মঠ ও মিশন, বেলুড় মঠ অধিগ্রহণ করেছেন। ৪০ নম্বর বাড়ির পিছনের অংশে ৪১ নম্বরে সেই পুরাতন ঠাকুরদালান যেখানে শ্রীরামকৃষ্ণের শুভাগমন হয়েছিল।
