Sri Sri Thakur sanctified this house at least 9 times (according to the description in Kathamrita) by his visit along with the devotees. In this house he met the literary giant Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay and had discussions on God. It is mentioned in Kathamrita that he participated in the Kirtan (song and dance in praise of the divinity) with the devotees, had divine discourse and passed into Samadhi (ecstatic state). He had food with the devotees here.

বর্তমান ঠিকানা — ৯৭বি, বেনিয়াটোলা স্ট্রীট; শোভাবাজার, কলিকতা-৫। শ্রীশ্রীঠাকুর এই বাড়িতে ভক্তসঙ্গে অন্তত ৯ বার শুভাগমন করিয়াছিলেন (কথামৃতের বিবরণ অনুযায়ী)। এই বাড়িতে সাহিত্য সম্রাট বঙ্কিমচন্দ্রের সহিত তাঁহার সাক্ষাৎ ও ভগবৎ প্রসঙ্গ হইয়াছিল। ভক্তসঙ্গে কীর্তন, ভগবৎ প্রসঙ্গ, সমাধিস্থ হওয়া ও আহার করার কথা কথামৃতে উল্লিখিত আছে।
