Sri Ramakrishna’s Room
Sri Sri Thakur lived in a room on the north-west corner o the temple premises for a long period of 14 years (from 1871 to 1885). During this period, many saints, scholars, followers, householder devotees and seekers of truth used to visit him in this room to listen to his views and discourses on God and also of the days of his Sadhana (spiritual practice). They used to listen to Kirtan (musical form of narration, shared recitation or devotional singing) and Bhajan (closely connected to Kirtan, both being musical expression of devotional themes) and also used to witness him going often into Samadhi (spiritual ecstasy, communion with the Divine) in this place. He used to stand on the semi-circular verandah on the west side of this room and watch Ganga (Ganges). In this room, at present Sr Sri Thakur’s pictures have been placed on both the cots used by him and are worshipped daily.
শ্রীরামকৃষ্ণের ঘর
মন্দির প্রাঙ্গনের উত্তর-পশ্চিমদিকের কক্ষটিতে শ্রীশ্রীঠাকুর দীর্ঘ ১৪ বৎসর কাল বাস করিয়াছেন। এই কালে কত সাধু, পণ্ডিত, ভক্ত, তাঁহার অন্তরঙ্গ গৃহী ও ত্যাগী ভক্তবৃন্দের সঙ্গে ভগবৎপ্রসঙ্গ, তাঁহার সাধনকালের কথা, কীর্তন, ভজন, ভাব, সমাধি অনুষ্ঠিত হইয়াছিল। এই ঘরের পশ্চিমদিকের অর্ধচন্দ্রাকৃতি বারান্দায় দাঁড়াইয়া গঙ্গাদর্শন করিতেন। এই ঘরে বর্তমানে শ্রীশ্রীঠাকুরের তক্তাপোশ, চৌকীর উপর তাঁহার ফটো সযত্নে রক্ষিত হইয়া নিত্য পূজাদি হয়।
