Deoghar Baidyanath Dham
On way to Kashi Dham, Sri Sri Thakur visited Baidyanath Dham twice. In 1863, he visited Baidyanath Dham for the first time. Unfortunately, details of that visit are not available. His second visit was in 1868 when he again came here with Mathur Babu. At that time Hriday was also with him. Thakur stayed at this sacred place for a few days having darshan (auspicious sight) and worshipping Baba Baidyanath.
During that time, Thakur became deeply saddened by the misery, plight and poverty of men and women of a village there and asked Mathur Babu, ‘You are the Dewan (high official in charge of adminstration including finance) of Mother (Rashmoni). Can’t you give them each a bottle of oil, a set of clothes and feed them well one day?’ Mathur replied, ‘Baba, the pilgrimage itself will cost a lot. Lot of money will be required to take care of such huge number of people. What do you advise?’ ‘In that case, I am not going with you to Kashi leaving these people in distress.They have none to look after. I shall not leave them’, saying this Thakur started crying and went and sat amongst them. Mathur Babu sent people to Calcutta, brought lot of clothes and served the people as per wishes of Sri Sri Thakur.
দেওঘর ৺বৈদ্যনাথ ধাম
শ্রীশ্রীঠাকুর দুইবার এখানে আসিয়াছিলেন ৺কাশীধাম গমনের পথে। প্রথমবার ১৮৬৩ খ্রীষ্টাব্দে। সে সময়কার বিবরণ কিছু জানা যায় না। ১৮৬৮ খ্রীষ্টাব্দে জানুয়ারির শেষদিকে মথুরবাবু তাঁহাকে লইয়া এখানে আসিয়াছিলেন। সে সময় হৃদয় তাঁহার সঙ্গী ছিলেন। ৺বৈদ্যনাথ মহাদেবের পূজা ও দর্শনাদি করিয়া কয়েকদিন এই তীর্থে অবস্থান করিয়াছিলেন।
সে সময় একদিন একটি পল্লীর দরিদ্র লোকদের দুঃখ দুর্দশা দর্শনে ঠাকুর অত্যন্ত বিচলিত হইয়া মথুরবাবুকে বলিলেন, ‘তুমি তো মার দেওয়ান, এদের এক-মাথা করে তেল আর একখানা করে কাপড় দাও, আর পেট ভরে একদিন খাইয়ে দাও।’ মথুর উত্তরে বলিয়াছিলেন, ‘বাবা তীর্থে অনেক খরচ হবে, এও দেখছি অনেক লোক; এদের খাওয়াতে হলে অনেক টাকা লাগবে — এ অবস্থায় কি বলেন?’ ‘দূর শালা তোর কাশী তাহলে আমি যাব না, আমি এদের কাছেই থাকব; এদের কেউ নেই এদের ছেড়ে যাব না।’ — এই বলিয়া ঠাকুর কাঁদিতে কাঁদিতে লোকগুলির মধ্যে গিয়া বসিয়া পড়িলেন। মথুরবাবু তখন কলিকাতায় লোক পাঠাইয়া অনেক কাপড় আনাইয়া শ্রীশ্রীঠাকুরের ইচ্ছানুযায়ী সেবা করিয়াছিলেন।
